All new mazda pick up from SG Petch
Making its European premiere at the British International Motor Show is the all-new Mazda BT-50 pickup, developed to continue the Mazda B-Series tradition of rugged four-wheel drive practicality and fun, combined with sedan-like sophistication and comfort.
Enhanced for a higher quality feel both inside and out, the BT-50 features a newly developed 2.5-litre turbocharged common-rail diesel with significantly more power and lower fuel consumption, and a new exterior design that is even more stylish and athletic. Added to this are steering and suspension updates for even better handling, new colours, fabrics and equipment – all of which make the Mazda BT-50 a new-generation pickup that is ideal for both work or play.
The new BT-50 is longer by 70 mm, and also has higher cargo-box sides (60 mm) than the outgoing model. These are combined, on 4WD models, with larger overfenders and new 16-inch wheels for a look of strength, and new blister fenders for 2WD models, which lend these versions added sophistication. The rear end of the BT-50 has a newdesign, with a cleaner shape.
With the new BT-50, Mazda has once again raised the bar on build quality, a typical strength of Mazda vehicles, by drastically reducing gaps between all body panels – for example, the gap between the front bumper and grille has been reduced by nearly 8mm compared to the outgoing pickup. Combined with a choice of nine exterior colours (including three new ones) the new BT-50 looks like it has been chiselled from a single piece of metal for an athletic and strong road presence that is distinctive enough to also look great for a night out on the town.
